The cult series “Sex and the City” can already be described as outdated in many ways. But in the early 2000s, it made a splash and was deservedly considered groundbreaking. The show couldn’t impress with the originality of the plot or the deep philosophy, but there were instructive moments there. What can beloved heroines teach viewers?

If there is a desire, then action must be taken
Samantha spent many hours waiting for the waiter she liked. She wanted to wait until she was free so that she could leave with him soon. For this, she even gave her client some money to leave. And another heroine – Carrie Bradshaw – said that the rules, of course, are important, but she prefers to obey the urges of the soul.
The heart may break but it is not the end
Separations, no matter how painful they are, happen in everyone’s life. The worst thing is when a relationship suddenly ends, but the series shows that any breakup is an important lesson and a step towards becoming a person.
The world does not revolve around the opposite sex
The main characters have their own traits. They have an individual character, which is one of the reasons the public loves them. And, probably, any of us can feel closeness to one of the girls because of her characteristics. Carrie takes it all in a sensual way, Miranda always does everything she can to achieve her goal, Charlotte is obsessed with romance, and Samantha pursues arousal. Throughout all seasons and movies, the characters remain true to themselves and don’t change even when men appear in their lives.
Sometimes things don’t go according to plan
Having a plan for everything is, of course, a good thing, but you shouldn’t go too far into its structure. For example, due to her plan, Miranda almost missed her beloved Steve of her. However, in the end, she withdrew from her rigid ideas about the future and left for Brooklyn with Steve. Their love story unfolded and she lived happily, even though she couldn’t have imagined it before.
Friends are the greatest love of our life
The concept of “female friendship” often makes people smile sarcastically and joke. But the series shows the opposite: the main characters have always helped and supported each other. They solved all the problems together, whether it was finances, health or a broken heart. Beside any heroine in a difficult time there was always a friend’s shoulder. Maybe our girls are our soul mates and boys are just people to have fun with, Charlotte thought.
Put yourself first
There is an opinion that true love is loving your partner more than yourself. But if at the same time you don’t feel happy, then why so much love? When Samantha began to develop mutual feelings for Smith Jerrod, she uttered one of her most famous lines: “I love you, but I love myself more!”
