The Czech fairy tale The Magic of the Kings was shot by Zdeněk Zelenka at Kost Castle and Žleby Castle. The story takes place in two kingdoms, one rules evil Vladan (Michal Slany), in the second prevails Good King Dobromil (Josef Abrham). The inviolability of the Second Kingdom is guaranteed thanks to the charm that hides a precious jewel – a ruby heart. He is just beginning to strive for them Queen of Fire (Jitka Schneiderová).

Director Zdeněk Zelenka he received a clear assignment from the management of Czech Television – to shoot a funny fairy tale. A year earlier, television had told a sad Christmas story and people were protesting.
Finding the protagonist was very difficult and took three long months. Constantly one of the officials could not ride a horse or fencing or did not look good in front of the camera. Until Martin Kraus, nicknamed the Czech Belmondo, fulfilled everything perfectly.
Tadeáš, played by Martin Kraus, sings in the voice of Jiří Škorpík, Mariana (Petra Tenorová) sings in the voice of Petra Páchová – a finalist in the first series of the Czechia is looking for a superstar competition. The princess was also dubbed and speaks in the voice of Marika Šopovská, who shone in the dance show StarDance.
The filming of the fairy tale took place at the Žleby chateau (library – chateau box office, kitchen), at Kost castle and in the historic water mill in Hoslovice.
With the song “Buchet je lotata”, a couple in love runs along the corridor of the castle kitchen. However, they could not run like this, because this corridor in the kitchen at Žleby Castle is blind with a single entrance. In fact, they run out of the meat cutting plant and return to the main “brewery”.
Surprisingly, the computer plays the most important role in the fairy tale. A total of 172 computer tricks are used in the film.
