6 Facts about the Exodus of Indian Foreigners, Entering through Soekarno-Hatta Airport, 12 Positive People with Covid-19 Pages all

KOMPAS.com – The Covid-19 case in India experienced a high spike and was touted as the Covid-19 tsunami.

Daily positive case reports for the coronavirus in India have topped 300,000 in recent days.

Along with the spike in cases, it is said that there was an exodus of Indian citizens who entered Indonesian territory.

Regarding the alleged exodus of foreigners from India to Indonesia, Head of the Covid-19 Handling Task Force Doni Monardo has asked Covid-19 Task Force spokesman Wiku Adisasmito to ask about this to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Class I Immigration Office for Immigration Checkpoints (TPI) at Soekarno-Hatta Airport recorded 454 Indian citizens (WN) who entered Indonesia on 11-22 April 2021.

Head of the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Immigration Office, Romi Yudianto, said the 454 Indian citizens entered Indonesia via Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

“In total, from April 11 to April 22 (2021), 454 Indian citizens have entered,” said Romi via text message, Friday (23/4/2021).

The 454 Indian citizens consist of 244 visitor visa holders, 69 holders of Limited Stay Permit (Kitas) cards, 23 holders of Permanent Stay Permits (Kitap), 52 holders of Limited Stay Permits, and 66 transportation crew.

4. Licensing

Quoted Kompas.com, Thursday (23/4/2021) Head of Soekarno-Hatta Airport Immigration Office, Romi Yudianto, said that the 117 Indians arrived using an Air Asia plane with flight number XZ988.

Romi also said that they came with appropriate permits to enter Indonesia.

This permit is proven by ownership of a Limited Stay Permit Card (Kitas) or Ownership of a Permanent Stay Permit Card (Kitap).

He said all Indians had screened the Covid-19 test conducted by the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Port Health Office (KKP) officers.

“The health examination used PCR. After examining the documents, the 117 Indians met the requirements to enter Indonesia, namely the owners of Kitas and Kitap,” explained Romi.

5. A total of 12 people tested positive for Covid-19

Regarding the arrival of the Indian foreigner, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said, of the hundreds of Indian foreigners, 12 people were positive for Covid-19.

According to Budi, the government has done this whole genome sequencing to find out the variant of the Covid-19 virus from these foreigners, but are still waiting for the results.

6. Indonesia limits flights from India

The government announced restrictions on flights from India to Indonesia.

This policy was pursued following a spike in Covid-19 cases in India.

Budi said the government had temporarily canceled regular flights from India.
