6 Facts About One Family in Sigi Killed by the Sadistic MIT Terrorist Group

Four family members were found dead horribly in Sigi, Central Sulawesi (Central Sulawesi). They were allegedly slaughtered by the East Indonesia Mujahidin (MIT) group led by Ali Kalora.

The Lembatongoa Village Secretary, Rifai, told of the tragic incident that occurred in Lembatongoa Village, Palolo District, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi on Friday, November 27 2020 at around 10:00 a.m.

The four people who died consisted of a family head named Yasa. Other victims include Yasa’s wife, Yasa’s daughter, and Yasa’s son-in-law.

“It is true and that was the incident this morning. There were 4 victims, namely the wife or the owner of the house, her son and daughter-in-law or the husband of the daughter of the owner of the house.” said Lembatongoa Village Secretary Rifai when contacted, Friday (27/11/2020) night.

Residents Save Themselves to the Forest, Police Check Crime Scene

A number of residents who witnessed the murder and lived around the scene were terrified. The residents ran towards the forest to save themselves.

The police then intervened to investigate. Head of Public Relations Central Sulawesi Police Kombes Didik Supranoto said that his party could not provide detailed information.

According to him, the police are still conducting checks and crime scenes at the victim’s house.

“An investigation is still being carried out regarding the traces or belongings of the perpetrator who were left at the location. So it is not certain where the OTK group that carried out the sadistic murder came from,” said Didik.

PGI Requests that the Murder of One Family be Completed

General Chairman of the Federation of Indonesian Churches (PGI) Gomar Gultom asked the security forces to solve the sadistic murder case of this family.

Gomar Gultom was initially concerned about the death of a family in Sigi as a result of being killed by OTK. Gomar has empathy for the victim and the residents who live around the victim’s house.

“I am very concerned about the violence that occurred in Lewonu Hamlet, Lembantongoa Village, Central Sulawesi, where the Salvation Army houses of worship and 6 houses were burned, 4 residents were sadistically killed. I express my compassion to the families who have been left behind and the Salvation Army,” said Gomar written statement, Saturday (28/11/2020).

“Incidents that are very sad like this remind us of several recurring incidents that have sporadically occurred in the Central Sulawesi area,” he added.

Police Make No Church Burned

The sadistic murder of a family in Sigi circulates on social media. The killing was also said to have been accompanied by burning of houses and church around the scene.

Central Sulawesi Regional Police Chief Inspector General Abdul Rakhman Baso confirmed that the incident had circulated on social media Facebook. However, he stressed that no church was burned in the incident.

“Yes, it is true that there are reports of incidents circulating on Facebook. It just needs to be clarified that among those that were burned were no churches,” said Inspector General Rakhman Baso, Saturday (28/11/2020).
