The tension between China and Taiwan the higher it is. Now, Taiwan has disclosed at least six Chinese powers that threaten their territory.
These threats are summarized in the Taiwan Ministry of Defense (MND) report entitled ROC 2021 National Defense Report released on Tuesday (9/11).
As reported Taiwan NewsHere are six Chinese military capabilities that are considered a threat to Taiwan.
1. Intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities
China’s ISR capabilities are increasing. This increase is driven by the use of various technologies, such as satellites, radar, spy and electronic intelligence (ELINT) ships, reconnaissance aircraft, as well as drones.
2. Airport to port blockade capability
The report states that the Chinese military could blockade Taiwan’s main ports and airports, as well as outbound flight routes.
This blockade could also cut off Taiwan’s air and sea lines of communication, as well as disrupt the country’s military supplies.
3. Missile Launch
China’s air-fired ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and missiles are said to exceed Taiwan’s capabilities.
According to the Ministry of Defense, these various types of missiles, along with Beijing’s army and navy defense equipment, will be used to target Taiwan’s political, economic and military forces.
4. Amphibious landing
The report also states that the Chinese military is strengthening their air and amphibious assault units.
China has also reportedly stepped up joint landing training for marines. Both will be used to help China carry out landing operations.
5. Prevent foreign military aid
The Chinese military is also said to be able to intercept foreign military assistance to Taiwan. Some of the ways are by deploying medium and long range attacks, as well as their anti-ship missiles.
Not only that, Beijing’s military is claimed to be able to send aircraft carriers and bombers to the Western Pacific region.
6. Speed up satellite launch to support information
The Chinese military is also said to be building an air operational platform. Not only that, they are said to be accelerating the launch of reconnaissance, navigation and communication satellites to support the flow of information if war breaks out.
