4. Accompanied by heartburn
The characteristics of a congenital cough in pregnancy can also be accompanied by stomach ulcers. This can occur due to extra-abdominal pressure during pregnancy or lower physical activity and improper diet.
According to research, about two-thirds of pregnant women experience indigestion and acid reflux (heartburn) accompanied by coughing. It is the most common cause of cough in pregnancy, contributing to nearly 77%.
5. Shortness of breath
Shortness of breath and coughing can also be congenital characteristics of pregnancy. Impaired immunity during pregnancy makes Mother susceptible to respiratory infections, such as colds, coughs, and bronchitis.
As per research, bronchitis accounts for 7% of all causes of cough in pregnancy.
6. Cough caused by rhinitis
In a study outlines hormonal imbalances and impaired immunity to be the main factors of rhinitis in pregnancy. Nearly 30% of pregnant women experience coughing due to allergic rhinitis.
