6 “Attack” Adian Napitupulu to Erick Thohir Page all

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The rivalry between Adian Napitupulu with a fort Minister of BUMN, Erick Thohir continues. This polemic began when Adian accused a lot of deposits in the position of directors and BUMN commissioner.

The former 1998 activist who is also a PDI-P politician accused the process of selecting senior positions in state-owned companies, including children and grandchildren of SOE companies, to be transparent. In fact, the management of state assets must be transparent and can be known to the public.

Next 6 “attacks” criticism Adian Napitupulu directed to SOE Minister Erick Thohir as summarized on Monday (7/27/2020):

1. There are 6,200 deposits in BUMN

Adian openly said there were 6,200 entrusted people in SOEs and subsidiaries, both who were placed as directors and commissioners.

“Why do I say that there are 6,200 commissioners and directors left at BUMN? The logic is simple, that is because all the recruitment, selection and decisions for the position of directors and commissioners are conducted in private, so the deposit will usually occur,” Adian said in his statement.

According to him, the selection of BUMN directors and commissioners should be known to the public. Regardless of whether the candidates come from volunteers or cadres of political parties supporting the government.

“Are not the entrusted deposits a consequence of the absence of a transparent recruitment system. If it is said that I do not understand corporate culture then I need to ask, which culture? As far as I know the closed corporate culture is a corporate culture that was born from mindset New Order, “said Adian.

2. The question of millennial commissioners

Adian questioned the appointment of the commissioners from the millennial who were considered to be very political.

“There is one more that is being identified, this millennial has ever been declared by Erick Thohir for president. Then, a few days later he was appointed as a commissioner. Is the measurement tool for the declaration of the new president to be appointed as a commissioner? ” said Adian.

According to the DPR members for these two periods, the appointment of BUMN commissioner is very politically charged.

In fact, he continued, even though the SOE commissioner selection process was guided by competence, there were a number of cadres of the government coalition parties deemed suitable to fill positions in state-owned companies.

3. BUMN Commissioner retired

In addition to millennial SOE commissioners, Adian also questioned the appointment of a number of commissioners in SOEs by Erick Thohir from retired circles.

Adian considers SOE Minister Erick Thohir’s policy to be inconsistent. Many retirees have served in BUMN. In fact, at first, Erick complained about old people who were occupying strategic positions in state enterprises.

However, lately there are many pensioner placements in SOEs. He questioned, why Ministry of BUMN does not prioritize the election of commissioners from the coalition party elements in the administration of President Joko Widodo-Ma’ruf Amin.

4. Question about the appointment of the Garuda boss

Adian questioned the appointment of a number of BUMN leaders whom he felt were inappropriate, one of which was the position of CEO of Garua Indonesia, Irfan Sebuahutra.

According to Adian, Irfan has no background in the world of airlines and was previously more widely known as the CEO of a mining company.

Adian is not sure that Irfan can make airlines Garuda Indonesia progressed, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic conditions as they are now.

“If I do not believe it. This is not a normal situation. The boss of a plantation company is just an adaptation worker if he moves to another plantation company,” Adian said.

5. BUMN bailout funds

Adian Napitupulu asked President Joko Widodo or Jokowi not to take the BUMN bailout option, as was done for PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk.

Adian said, bailouts to Garuda Indonesia were not regulated in Government Regulation (PP) No. 23 of 2020 concerning the Implementation of the National Economic Recovery Program (PEN). Disbursement of bailouts, on the other hand, can crash into existing regulations.

Meanwhile, if using a state capital participation scheme (PMN), the consequence is that there is an increase in the percentage of shares owned by the government while reducing the percentage of other shareholders (diluted).

Previously, in a hearing with the House of Representatives Commission VI, SOE Minister Erick Thohir explained, there were three scenarios of injection of funds for BUMN companies.

One of the scenarios, around 14 percent or Rp. 19.65 trillion was provided as a bailout for five BUMN, namely PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), PT Perkebunan Nusantara (Persero), PT Krakatau Steel (Persero) ) Tbk, and Perum Perumnas.

Each of the BUMNs received a bailout fund allocation for working capital of Rp 8.5 trillion, Rp 3.5 trillion, Rp 4 trillion, Rp 3 trillion and Rp 650 billion.

The condition of the five state-owned companies was quite difficult in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. The majority of companies are in debt and some companies have long been in a state of loss, such as Krakatau Steel.

6. Change of BUMN logo

The change in the logo of the SOE Ministry carried by SOE Minister Erick Thohir also did not escape Adian’s criticism. The reason, he said, is the change of the BUMN logo is not an urgent matter at this time.

“As far as I know the logo doesn’t solve the virus, it can’t make people full and won’t be able to prevent mass layoffs,” said the former 1998 activist.
