With Mondo Duplantis in the room, stunt work is never far away. The Swede set the bar at the All Star Perche meeting of Clermont-Ferrand at 6.22 meters and did not fail.
The Olympic champion improved his own jump record from July 2022 by one centimeter on his third attempt.
He has held the record since February 2020. With a jump of 6.17m, he then took over from the Frenchman Renaud Lavillenie, organizer of this meeting.
At 23, Duplantis has already broken the record for the 6th time. “It’s unbelievable,” the Swede stammered.
“It is wonderful that I am breaking the record in front of Renaud. Without him I would never have jumped so high.
Duplantis will not be present at the European Indoor Championships from 2 to 5 March. Ben Broeders was 6th with 5.71m.
