The US Geological Survey (USGS) mentioned a magnitude 6.2 earthquake occurred about 187 kilometers southeast of the Tongan city of Hihaifo.
The earthquake occurred on July 16 at 12:40 a.m. Thai time and had an epicenter at a depth of 10 kilometers, with coordinates at 16.48 levels south latitude and 172.13 levels west longitude.
Nonetheless, there have been no reviews of harm, loss of life or damage from the incident.
