The 5th Film Festival in Native Languages arrives at the Cineteca Juárez de Chihuahua with films that cover the Mixe (Ayuujk), Southern Tepehuano (O’ dam), Huichol (Wixárika), Otomí (Hñähñu), Mayo (Yoremnokki) and Tarasco (PꞋurhepecha) languages. The exhibition consists of ten films, six short films and four feature films, documentary and fiction, which will be screened in different venues, television stations and digital platforms.

A Place Called Musicwhich tells the life of Daniel Medina, a Wixárika musician who collaborates with the composer Philip Glass, in which for the first time his traditional music is played with a piano.
Mayan Medicine Meetings, a film that portrays how in the Mayan culture, health and illness depend on the relationship of people with the community and nature. This belief of pre-Hispanic origin governs to this day the knowledge and healing practices of the people who practice traditional medicine in the Mayan communities.
Mixtec Knota story set during the patron saint’s day of San Mateo and in which three stories are intertwined.
Cruz, a story that tells the life of a man of Rarámuri origin, who, along with his family, was expelled from their land by drug traffickers. They currently live in exile under threat of death and desperately appeal to justice to recover their lands and return home.
