“596 Km of Trans Sumatra Toll Roads Ready for Travelers during Mudik”

PT Hutama Karya (Persero) confirmed 596 kilometers (km) of segments Trans Sumatra Highway (JTTS) is ready to operate for travelers to pass. There are at least nine toll roads that will operate.

Director of Operations III Hutama Karya Koentjoro said. with the addition of new sections that are operating this year, it will increase the length of the homecoming route that can be traversed by the community. He appealed to the public to always ensure sufficient balance before starting a trip so as not to cause queues at toll gates.

“Ensuring that you are physically in prime condition before driving and if you feel sleepy/tired to immediately rest in the rest area provided, because microsleep is quite a crucial factor on toll roads. Especially on the two longest sections when starting a journey on JTTS, namely the Bakter toll road ( 140km) and Terpeka (189km),” he said, in a written statement, Saturday (8/4/2023).

Trans Sumatra Toll Roads that Operate during Mudik:

1. The Bakauheni-Terbanggi Besar Section is 140 Km long, the Terbanggi Besar-Pematang Panggang-Kayu Agung Section is 189 Km long
2. The Palembang-Indralaya section is 21.9 km long, the Pekanbaru-Dumai section is 131 km long
3. The Medan-Binjai section is 17.3 km long
4. Binjai-Langsa Section 1 (Binjai – Stabat) Section 11.8 Km long
5. Sigli-Banda Aceh Sections 2, 3 & 4 (Seulimeum-Blang Bintang) 35.8 Km long.

Then there are two sections that were just put into operation at the end of last year, namely the Pekanbaru – Padang Section 1 (Pekanbaru – Bangkinang) section with a length of 31 km and the Bengkulu-Taba Penanjung Section with a length of 17.8 km.

In addition, Hutama Karya has prepared 21 rest areas with complete facilities on the Bakauheni-Terbanggi Besar Section and the Terbanggi Besar-Pematang Panggang-Kayu Agung Section with a parking capacity of up to more than 3,000 vehicles, 1,106 toilets, 659 additional toilets, 11 gas station locations, and 6 SPKLU locations and 4 (four) rest areas.

“Meanwhile, on the Pekanbaru-Dumai Section with facilities that are no less complete than the permanent rest area,” explained Koentjoro.
