The number of new corona infections has increased slightly compared to the previous day: According to the Hamburg social authority, 584 new corona cases were registered on Thursday. That’s 22 more than on Wednesday and 99 more than a week ago.
Due to corona cases that have not yet been registered in the past few days, the social authority reports an increased number of 120 late registrations. The health authorities had processed this beforehand, but had not yet recorded them statistically. This also has an impact on the seven-day incidence. The number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in one week increased to 179.6 compared to the previous day. According to the social authority, a total of 34,458 people in Hamburg have tested positive for the corona virus since the beginning of the pandemic. According to estimates by the Robert Koch Institute, around 25,000 of these can now be regarded as recovered.
More deaths reported
According to the Institute for Forensic Medicine at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, 498 people in the Hanseatic city have died from the corona virus so far. This number is not updated daily, but reported as a bundle after the autopsies.
According to the information, 541 patients are being treated in Hamburg in Hamburg (as of December 23, 2020). 97 of them are in intensive care units – three fewer than on Tuesday. 77 of these patients come from Hamburg.
