5790 new confirmed corona infections have been reported to the RIVM until 10:00 this morning. That is 1,292 more than reported yesterday.
According to RIVM, the increase does not indicate a change in the general trend. This trend is still a stabilization or at most a very slight decrease, albeit at a significantly higher level than the institute would have liked. In the past week, the number of infections decreased by about 3 percent compared to the seven days before.
Large fluctuations in the daily figures are more common due to administrative hitches: last Tuesday, for example, the number of positive infections decreased by 1,236 without there actually being an underlying change in the trend.
