The spread of Corona 19 in Japan is not slowing down despite the expansion of the emergency situation.
According to the Japanese public broadcaster NHK’s statistics, there were 5,759 confirmed corona19 infections across Japan yesterday (17th).
Compared to the one-day confirmed cases of 7,000 people recorded for two consecutive days on the last 15-16 days, it was the second highest on Sunday after the last 10 days (6,91 people).
The cumulative corona 19 confirmed in Japan increased to 331,256, and the number of deaths increased by 49 yesterday to 4,538.
On the 8th, the Japanese government issued an emergency situation with the aim of refraining from going out and reducing restaurant business hours to four metropolitan local governments, including Tokyo, and on the 14th, additional emergencies were issued in seven regions including Osaka.
However, as the rate of spread of Corona 19 in Japan is not slowing, skepticism about the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games scheduled to be held in July is spreading in Japan.
In a recent foreign press interview, Taro Kono, the first Japanese cabinet minister, acknowledged the uncertainty of hosting the Tokyo Olympics.
