In Japan’s Sienta and JPN TAXI, the connector between the brake pedal and electrical parts has failed. The former may not be able to operate the brakes and park in the worst case, and the latter may cause the electric sliding door to open automatically while driving. A total of 580,792 Sienta and JPN TAXI vehicles were recalled in Japan, of which 571,294 were Sienta, produced from May 12, 2015 to March 24, 2023.
In Taiwan, Hotai Auto stated that due to the poor durability of the sealing material of the A-pillar exterior trim panel fixing buckle, water may penetrate into the cabin after long-term use and drip along the body into the electrical junction box below the A-pillar, which will cause some The electrical system is not functioning properly (such as door locks, etc.). If the car is equipped with an electric sliding door, the worst case scenario may cause the electric sliding door to open unexpectedly, resulting in an increased risk of injury to vehicle passengers.
After the parts preparation is completed, a customer notification letter will be sent, asking the target car owners to return to the factory to replace the A-pillar exterior panel fixing buckle for free. There are approximately 46,000 vehicles affected. Hotai Automobile requires owners to make an appointment with the service factory to return to the factory for parts replacement after receiving the notification.
