According to the Hamburg social authority, 569 new corona cases were registered on Wednesday. That’s 236 more than a week ago and 290 more than Tuesday.
The number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in one week rose significantly to 150.8. According to the social authorities, a total of 30,536 people in Hamburg have tested positive for the corona virus since the beginning of the pandemic. According to estimates by the Robert Koch Institute, around 22,800 of these can now be regarded as recovered.
More deaths reported
According to the information, 459 patients are being treated in Hamburg, 93 of them in intensive care units. According to the Institute for Forensic Medicine at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, 426 people in the Hanseatic city have died from the corona virus so far. This number is not updated daily, but reported as a bundle after the autopsies.
17,500 tests daily
An average of around 17,500 tests are carried out every working day, as the social welfare authority announced on Tuesday evening. The rate of positive results is therefore almost six percent of the tests.
