55-Year-Old Man Attacked by Robber and Bitten by Dog after Football Match

A 55-year-old man was beaten by a robber and bitten by his dog in Helmond on Friday evening after the Helmond Sport-FC Groningen match.

The 55-year-old man was on his way home after a visit to the home match of the Helmond football team. On the Straakvense Bosdijk he was then grabbed from behind by an unknown man with a dog.

The man with the dog shouted at the victim that he wanted his money. To emphasize his words, the highway robber incited his dog. The victim was bitten several times by the dog in his arms and legs.

The robber also hit the victim in the face. The man then managed to escape and get home. The dog’s bites had to be stitched up in the hospital that same evening.

Reporting
The police have issued a description of the suspicious man. He is about 1 meter 90 tall and spoke broken Dutch with a foreign dialect. The dog the man had with him was a large brown dog with white spots.
