The hiker from Salzburg climbs over the Franz-Scheckenberger-Steig towards Brunnkogel and wanted to hold onto a boulder shortly after the Bischofsmtze. However, the boulder broke out, so that the 55-year-old fell backwards a few meters and was injured to an undetermined degree.
A subsequent group of hikers observed the fall from the bishop’s seat, provided first aid and informed the rescue workers. The 55-year-old was finally rescued by the C10 emergency helicopter with the variable rope and flown to the Salzkammergut Clinic in Gmunden.
