The Ministry of Health and Population announced, on Monday, that 498 people recovering from the Corona virus have been discharged from hospitals, after receiving the necessary medical care and recovery according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization, bringing the total of those recovering from the virus to 123491 cases until today.
Dr. Khaled Mujahid, advisor to the Minister of Health and Population for Media Affairs and the official spokesperson for the ministry, said that 878 new cases that proved positive in laboratory analyzes of the virus were recorded, as part of the necessary surveillance, investigation and examination procedures that the ministry conducts according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization, pointing to the death of 55 new cases.
Mujahid said that according to the recommendations of the World Health Organization issued on May 27, 2020, the disappearance of symptoms for 10 days after infection is an indication of the patient’s recovery from the Corona virus.
“Mujahid” stated that the total number that was registered in Egypt with the new Corona virus until Monday, is 157,275 cases, including 12,3491 cases that have been cured, and 8,638 deaths.
The Ministry of Health and Population continues to raise its preparations in all governorates of the Republic, and to follow up the situation first-hand regarding the emerging “Corona virus.”
