The Walloon Region’s “Coup de Pouce” loan, which allows individuals to lend money to businesses and the self-employed to finance their activities, will benefit from an adapted formula from 1 January. It now provides for a ceiling of 250,000 euros per borrower and 125,000 euros per lender (against 100,000 and 50,000 respectively previously). In exchange for this loan, individuals obtain a tax advantage in the form of an annual tax credit of 4 % during the first four years, then 2.5% over any subsequent years. The mechanism of the new loan also provides for an extended period, which may be 4, 6, 8 or 10 years. The parties can either repay all of the capital at once at the end of the term of the credit, or choose a repayable loan presenting (as desired) quarterly, semi-annual or annual repayments of the capital over the planned duration. . The new formula also introduces the possibility of early repayment of loaned funds. The initial formula of the loan had already met “a real success” with, since the launch of the measure in September 2016 and until September 30, 2020, 936 loans recorded for a total amount of 17,197,564 euros, the Walloon minister indicated. of Economics Willy Borsus (MR) during the vote on the text. At the same time, the Walloon government has also decided to allow the grant under conditions, by Sowalfin, of a subordinated loan alongside a “Coup de Pouce” loan of identical amount and duration, with a minimum of 50,000 euros and a maximum of 250,000 euros. The mechanism of the new “Coup de Pouce” loan will extend until the end of 2022, with all files having to be submitted before that date. (Belga)
