Roelof succeeded Henk Blok in June of 2020 as news reader of the 538 Morning Show with Frank Dane. Now that it was announced this week that the radio DJ and his team will have to make way for colleague Wietze de Jager and his sidekick Klaas van der Eerden, the story ends for Roelof as well.
‘Every morning the 538 Morning Show making it was great,” he captioned a photo of the team. ‘I am proud to have been part of this company for a year and a half. The adventure ended too early and rather brutally. Fortunately, we will all be having a barbecue together soon. And drink a glass of wine. Or three.’

In addition, the newsreader informs RTL Boulevard that the news came like a bolt from the blue. “Really insane, I didn’t see this coming.”
Hannelore Zwitserlood, who was a side-kick in Frank Dane’s show until last April, is still stunned. She says: “I was also unpleasantly surprised by the news, it was quite unexpected. I wish these guys the world, I have worked well with them for a long time. I have of course been in contact with them about this. I really don’t deserve it, but unfortunately that’s how things go in this world.”
