Kelowna Freezing rain and roads flooded by ice-clogged drains in Canada: A bus crash in the province of British Columbia has injured more than 50 people.
More than 50 people have been injured in a bus crash in Western Canada. The incident occurred in the province of British Columbia near the city of Kelowna, David Eby, the province’s prime minister, wrote on Twitter on Saturday night. 53 people were taken to three hospitals, Canadian media reported.
“Our thoughts are with those affected, their families, first responders and healthcare workers who are doing their best,” Eby wrote on Twitter. It was not immediately known what caused the crash. Provincial authorities had previously warned of freezing rain and flooding of roads due to ice-clogged drains. Drivers are advised to consider alternative travel plans, she said on Saturday.
