A 52-year-old man’s luck ran out after he was captured by authorities for two fraud cases.
It turns out that the citizen, who was apprehended in the Villas de Don Bosco residential complex, posed as a lawyer and defrauded foreigners by offering immigration procedures.
The action called by the Police as Operation Swindler took place specifically on 3rd Street of that sector located in the district of Don Bosco, in a residence where the suspect related to the commission of this crime is located.
According to the investigations carried out by the judicial authorities, the man posed as a lawyer offering foreigners to carry out immigration procedures with promises to expedite the process for his victims. Two cases are being investigated where the economic injury exceeds 12 thousand dollars.
In this sense, the National Immigration Service calls on users, when hiring the services of a legal professional, to confirm that they have the qualifications of a lawyer.
In November 2023, the authorities captured 4 people who also posed as lawyers and charged for false immigration procedures.
