This information was provided by the regional manager of the National Immunization Program (PNI) of the Seremi de Salud, Christian Lombardi, who recalled that for a few days The application criteria for this vaccine were expanded.
In this regard, he stated that “In addition to the previously prioritized groups, the bivalent formula is now available to all people who have the first and second dose, as long as more than 16 weeks have elapsed since the last inoculation,” Lombardi explained.
He also added that “those who have a third or fourth dose can receive it 24 weeks after the last dose supplied.”
Along these lines, the authority called on the regional community to go to the vaccination centers before the colder months arrive in the area, as a way of being better prepared and protected. “We must remember that within a few weeks temperatures will begin to drop, especially in the Province of El Loa, which is added to the appearance of different pathogens that are beginning to position themselves such as influenza, parainfluenza and syncytial, among others.”
So far this year, 32 people have died from Covid-19 in the regionwhich shows that the pandemic is not over.
