5:1! Fortuna Cologne storms to the top with a derby victory

With a 5-1 derby win against the U20s of 1. FC Köln, Fortuna Cologne took the lead in the table after the 7th matchday in the Women’s Regional League West. 18 of 21 possible points are recorded.

League newcomers DJK Wacker Mecklenbeck are still level on points with the Domstadt team after their 1-0 away win at Vorwärts Spoho Köln. Also on a foreign pitch, 1. FFC Recklinghausen had the upper hand 3-1 at DJK Südwest Köln.

The U21 team from SGS Essen won 5-1 against SSV Rhade and thus moved into the top half of the table, as did the second team from Borussia Mönchengladbach, who won the youth duel against the U23 team from Bayer 04 Leverkusen 3-1 in front of their own audience.

Two games did not take place as planned. Alemannia Aachen did not play against Arminia Bielefeld due to a lack of staff. The home game between VfR Schwarz-Weiß Warbeyen 1945 against FSV Gütersloh 2009 II was also canceled at short notice because the guests from East Westphalia were caught in a complete closure on the A2 motorway on their journey and were therefore unable to arrive in Kleve on time. The game has already been rescheduled for Saturday, November 23rd, from 6 p.m.
