5020 Madrid Studios: Spain’s Leading Recording Space for Artists

Spain is in luck on a musical level. And not only because our country has become one of the references within the world music scene thanks to our leading artists, but also because since this year we have the 5020 Madrid studios, one of the largest and most avant-garde creative spaces in Europe and Latin America.

Sony Music is behind the development of this studio that has a precedent in its image and likeness in Miami (5020 Biscayne Blvd), a musical reference to promote creation and collaboration between Spanish and Latin artists, and building cultural and creative bridges between Spain , Europe, and Latin America. Some of the most global hits by artists such as Shakira, JLo, Camilo, Rauw Alejandro and Marshmello, among others, have materialized there.

Before its official premiere this April, the 5020 Madrid studios have been filming before the official opening and have been a place of visit for artists, members of the press, producers, etc. And we don’t know any other response other than fascination with this new place: “The artists who come don’t want to leave,” José María Barbat, president of Sony Music Spain, tells us.

“We want to take advantage of this massive cultural offer of concerts by Latin artists who spend the entire summer here giving shows and festivals and have their space to take advantage of the off days to come to the studio for their own work and share their talent with Spanish artists and producers. “explains the head of the record company. “With artists like Rosalía, Nathy Peluso or C Tangana, Spain has an ecosystem of Latin urban music that is impacting the entire world.”

“It has 4 rooms, 2 on the ground floor and 2 on the first floor. One of them is where we are doing the interview next to studio B, which is the rock studio because of its acoustics. The ground floor is the most collaborative space associated with the new generations of urban pop and electronica. It has an 85 square meter studio, which is something rare to find because they tend to be small rooms. And it has a 500 meter terrace that we will use for events, artist presentations, showcases… “José María Barbat tells us about the figures left by this incredible study. “It’s a shame that I wasn’t ready to leave here with El malquerer, Motomami or El Madrileño that have put us on everyone’s lips.”

Madrid now has the largest recording studio in the country and one of the most important in Europe, an avant-garde infrastructure on an international scale that was created to stimulate the creative process where it is forged, the place where artistic inspiration arises. “Nathy Peluso’s next album has already been recorded here.
