501 new infections and active cases rise to 3,970

Active cases continue to increase in Galicia and today they remain at the gates of 4,000, but infections decrease slightly compared to yesterday’s data and, most importantly, the percentage growth week over week continues to decline. Last Friday the infections increased by 140%, and today they do so by 69.8%, just half. From Monday to Friday there have been 1,893 infections, 85.4% more, a growth percentage lower than the 132% of the previous week. this sixth wave it has not yet peaked, but its growth is slowing down little by little, judging by the data of the last few days.

Hospital pressure continues to rise, with 1 more patient on the ward and 1 more in the ICU. The 107 admitted today are 48 more than the 59 last Friday. Those admitted to the ICU increase from 12 to 13 throughout Galicia.

Vigo and Ourense continue to be the most affected health areas, and today the first of them reaches a new maximum of infectionswith 160 new cases, while Ourense registers 106. This last city is already above 500 incidence, while Olívica already exceeds 200 points.

These are the most relevant data today:

  • The number of new cases increases by 206 compared to 295 last Friday.
  • Active cases rise to 3,970, an increase of 397 infected.
  • The number of hospitalized people rises from 105 to 107, 48 more than a week ago.
  • The incidence at 14 days rises 14 points to 142 and the incidence at 7 days rises 8 points to 95 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

Today Friday more diagnoses are recorded than the 295 on Friday, November 19. Today’s 501 new cases are the 9,77% of positive diagnoses of 5,125 PCR tests, while last Friday’s 295 were 9.14% of positives of 3,226 tests.

On the Sergas data website it says that in the last 24 hours 498 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed by PCR, and the difference between the total number of infected since the start of the pandemic today (187,975) and yesterday ( 187,474) is 501 people. In the same way, the new infections that we indicate by health area are calculated with the same procedure.

In the last 24 hours they have been registered in Galicia 501 new cases of SARS-CoV-2 and 103 high, which makes The cases of coronavirus rise by 397 people, going from 3,573 yesterday to 3,970 today.

The total of hospitalized rises from 105 to 107. Last Friday there were 59 hospitalized, 48 less than today. The total number of coronavirus cases recorded by Sergas since the start of the pandemic is 187,975.
