Since the face masks were rejected, the cargo of dust was gathering in a warehouse in the port of Ghent. Applying a sticker quickly was not an option, because a re-inspection was not allowed. There was only one thing to do: load the boxes onto a truck, cross the Swiss border and return.
After all, Switzerland is not part of the European customs union and a re-inspection is allowed for new imports. The stickers could now be stuck on the boxes and the Flemish residential care centers would still have 500,000 extra face masks at their disposal. Not unimportant detail: the company responsible for the stickers of the mouth masks was responsible for the costs of transport to and from Switzerland.
