Augsburg. 50,000 euros for the promotion of youth and adult education in Germany and abroad – with their newly established endowment, Claudia and Roland Kober are pursuing precisely this purpose. To the delight of those responsible at the Kolping Foundation-Rudolf-Geiselberger, which now has a total of 20 endowments.
Good news for the Kolping Foundation-Rudolf-Geiselberger and its projects in Germany, India and South Africa: On Friday, October 23, 2020, Claudia and Roland Kober signed the contracts for a new endowment – in the presence of the foundation chairman and Kolping diocesan president Wolfgang Kretschmer, the Foundation Commissioner Ursula Straub and Managing Director Werner Moritz.
Foundation Managing Director Werner Moritz: “This is a very happy day for all of our volunteers, the whole Kolping family, our partners in South Africa and India – and above all for those in need, whom we continue to help and among the people in the context of our projects Arms can grab. The donation from Claudia and Roland Kober – and now the 20th donation to our foundation – is both confirmation and drive for us: confirmation that the Kolping Foundation-Rudolf-Geiselberger is doing effective work worth supporting. And an incentive that we continue to work for people in need. “
Focus on girls and women
The main purpose of the “Claudia and Roland Kober Endowment”, which has endowment capital of 50,000 euros, is to promote youth and adult education at home and abroad. The couple has chosen to focus on promoting the education of girls and women in developing countries. Claudia Kober: “From a global perspective, girls are still severely disadvantaged when it comes to access to education. Our endowment would like to start right here. Because equal access to school and vocational training can work on many levels and minimize many subsequent problems. Education is simply the key to a better life. “
Claudia and Roland Kober see precisely these goals realized in the projects of the Kolping Foundation-Rudolf-Geiselberger – also because the two have been associated with the Catholic Social Association Kolping for many years: While Claudia Kober is active on the board of the Kolping Family Kötz, Roland Kober is a member of the Management teams of the Kolping family Kötz and since 2013 a member of the nine-member board of the Kolping Educational Center in the Diocese of Augsburg.
Roland Kober: “The Kolping Foundation-Rudolf-Geiselberger does really effective work on site. We find the solid partnerships in India and South Africa particularly impressive, but also the certification by the DZI donation seal. So we can be sure that our money will get there where it is needed – in our case for the education of girls and women in developing countries, but also in Germany. ”Both of the two projects are particularly eye-catching for the implementation of their concerns In a nutshell: On the one hand there is the SPARK project in South Africa, which helps single parents and unemployed mothers in the South African townships get back on their feet in times of crisis through advice and specific offers of help. On the other hand, there is a training project in India, which focuses on vocational training and income-generating measures for young people.
