500 kilos of meat that was confiscated is now a tasty snack …

A large-scale action by the federal police in Hainaut, last Friday, has delivered a lot. More than 150 vehicles were checked. In total, 500 kilos of meat were seized for 16,293 euros.

Remarkable: the meat was not destroyed, but transferred to the Pairi Daiza animal park. And the animals there, reportedly, happily consumed their meal.

The checks took place in both directions of the A8 motorway, at the Froyennes motorway car parks. Customs services, the Federal Food Agency (FAVV) and the NEO were also involved in the action.

The operation is part of the objectives of the States General in the field of road safety.
