The 2021 Budget Law, in fact, has provided for an additional facility for those who want to get rid of old cars and motorcycles.
In detail, the scrapping bonus provides for a refund of 500 euros for the purchase of other vehicles.
The Government’s goal
Scrapping the numerous stationary and disused cars that pollute the country, on the other hand facilitating the spread of greener vehicles with low polluting emissions.
500 euros on arrival for those who decide to scrap their car or motorbike. Times and methods
To take advantage of the discount, the vehicle or motorcycle must be scrapped no later than 31 December 2021.
In this way, you will be able to receive:
a) 500 euros for the scrapping of cars from Euro 0 to Euro 3;
b) 500 euros for the scrapping of motorcycles from Euro 0 to Euro 2;
c) 500 euros for the scrapping of Euro 3 two-stroke motorcycles.
The refund must be reused, within a maximum of the following 3 years from scrapping, for the purchase of:
a) bicycles and e-bikes;
b) electric scooters;
c) servizi in car sharing;
d) season tickets for public transport.
Furthermore, the bonus does not accumulate with the income for the purposes ISEE.
How to proceed with scrapping
To scrap the old vehicles and receive the bonus, it will be necessary to apply to authorized dealerships or demolition centers. Registration card, license plate and certificate of ownership will be delivered before scrapping, at the end of which the citizen must receive a certificate of demolition of the vehicle and motorcycle.
Limitations
Finally, it should be noted that this incentive is not available to everyone but only to those who live in highly polluted metropolitan cities such as:
a) Lombardy;
b) Molise;
c) Piedmont;
d) Lazio;
e) Veneto;
f) Liguria;
g) Sicily;
h) Toscana.
