500 Dairy Cows in Ngantang Malang Injected with PMK Vaccines

Malang

Dairy farmers in Ngantang, Malang Regency get a breath of fresh air after being hit by a panic caused by the Mouth and Nail Disease (FMD) outbreak. The fresh air was the arrival of 500 doses of PMK vaccine some time ago.

The head of the Village Business Cooperative (KUD) Sumber Makmur Ngantang, Malang Regency, Sugiono said that hundreds of doses of the vaccine had been injected into dairy cattle belonging to farmers who had never been infected with PMK.

“We have distributed the vaccine together with the Livestock Service Office of Malang Regency today in Ganten hamlet 439 cows and the remaining 61 we vaccinated dairy cows in the KUD Sumber Makmur cage,” said Sugiono, Wednesday (22/6/2022).

Sugiono hopes that the government can accelerate the PMK vaccination. This is because this vaccine is the only hope of farmers to save dairy cows in the Ngantang area, Malang Regency.

“So far, farmers have hoped for this vaccination. Farmers who have recovered and have recovered 80 percent of the time also really hope that this PMK vaccination can be injected in all dairy cows in Ngantang District,” he ordered.

Since PMK entered the Ngantang area, Malang Regency until Tuesday, June 21, 2022, there have been as many as 8,000 dairy cows that have been infected with the epidemic out of a total population of 17,800.

“From that number, the death rate can be said to be 3 percent. There are around 250 deaths. For forced selling or forcibly slaughtering about 550 tails,” said Sugiono.

It should be noted that previously, Pujon District, Malang Regency had received 300 doses of PMK vaccine from the Malang Regency Government.
