This week, France 24 is celebrating 50 years of hip-hop. More than a musical genre, it is a global phenomenon. Commerce, sport, fashion, politics… its influence is everywhere. The “À l’Affiche!” team filmed a series of four shows between New York and Paris, following in the footsteps of this culture born in the streets of the Bronx in the early 1970s and which became the most listened to music in the world. In the first episode, Louise Dupont goes back to the source and meets one of the pioneers of the genre: the DJ and producer Grandmaster Flash.
