50 Vietnamese companies registered to become private label manufacturers for Aeon

(PLO) – Aeon helps businesses gradually improve product quality and competitiveness towards the goal of exporting to Japan as well as other demanding markets.

On October 5, at Aeon Tan Phu Celadon Shopping Center, Ho Chi Minh City Trade and Investment Promotion Center (ITPC) coordinated with Aeon Vietnam Co., Ltd. to organize “Vietnamese Enterprise Products Exhibition Week”. Nam and the 5th Conference connecting Vietnamese businesses to bring goods into the Aeon supermarket chain in 2023.

According to Mr. Ono Masuo, Consul General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City, to organize this event, ITPC rigorously recruited from 210 registration applications to select 34 enterprises in the packaged food fields. Packaged and pre-processed products such as tea, coffee, dried agricultural products, rice, vegetables, tubers, berries, fruits… meet Aeon’s criteria for participating in the exhibition.

“In the coming time, we expect the cooperative relationship between ITPC and Aeon to develop to new heights, contributing to deepening the exchange and friendship between the two countries” – Mr. Ono said.

Mr. Takeuchi Takashi, Deputy General Director of Aeon Vietnam office, said that Vietnam is a key market in the group’s investment and development strategy, second only to Japan.

In recent years, Aeon Group in Japan and Vietnam has continuously promoted Vietnamese products to the domestic market, Japan and many other international markets.

ITPC is a very important and long-term partner of Aeon, playing the role of connecting Vietnamese enterprises with foreign investment enterprises in trade and investment promotion.

For example, the Vietnamese Enterprise Product Exhibition Week at Aeon Tan Phu has been held since 2018 with the number of participating suppliers gradually increasing over the years. Thereby, demonstrating the efforts of both sides to support the development of local suppliers.

According to Mr. Takeuchi Takashi, the conference to connect Vietnamese businesses to bring goods into the Aeon supermarket chain will take place on October 9, the number of Vietnamese businesses registering to become Aeon private label manufacturers is up to 50 units, double Double the number compared to 2022.

Mr. Tran Phu Lu, Director of ITPC, said that this is an annual event to create opportunities to promote cooperation between one of the world’s largest retail corporations, Aeon, and Vietnamese enterprises with reputable brands.

According to Mr. Lu, the organizing committee expects businesses to take advantage of the opportunity to introduce new products with high quality, reasonable prices, and meet the needs of consumers. At the same time, through the Aeon system, Vietnamese branded goods will reach international consumers.

In addition, the networking conference is expected to have 200 Vietnamese businesses attending. Heads of Aeon’s product groups will help businesses evaluate product quality and grasp consumer trends to orient production accordingly. Thereby, gradually improving product quality and competitiveness, aiming to export to Japan as well as other demanding markets.

Japan is the 4th largest trading partner and the third largest export partner of Vietnam. In the first eight months of 2023, Vietnam-Japan import-export turnover is estimated to reach 29.1 billion USD, of which Vietnam’s export turnover to the Japanese market has reached nearly 14 billion USD.
