This commemoration coincides with the founding date of the Boedi Oetomo (Budi Utomo) organization.
Budi Utomo is an organization that accommodates the aspirations of Indonesian education and culture fighters.
May 20th is known as National Resurgence Day because the Boedi Oetomo organization has raised the spirit of the Indonesian people’s struggle.
