Nezahualcóyotl, Mex. The Neza 2024 Book Fair “Books Have the Word” will be held from Wednesday the 10th to Sunday the 14th at the Unión de Fuerzas Esplanade. It will feature the participation of 80 exhibitors, 200 publishing labels and the gift of more than five thousand books.
Mayor Adolfo Cerqueda Rebollo in the company of Marina Taibo Saiz from the Brigade to Read in Freedom, made the announcement of this cultural event which, it is estimated, will bring together more than 50 thousand attendees.
In a joint press conference, it was reported that the Book Fair in the municipal esplanade is to celebrate the 61st Anniversary of the founding of Nezahualcóyotl.
Mariana Taibo said that this event is one of the most important in the eastern part of the Valley of Mexico because they expect the attendance of residents of Ciudad Neza and neighboring municipalities such as Chimalhuacán, Ecatepec, La Paz, Iztapalapa, Iztacalco, Venustiano Carranza, among others. .
Writers, playwrights, journalists, musicians and storytellers participate in the various activities, and books will also be offered at an affordable cost, with prices ranging from 20 pesos onwards.
Taibo Saiz specified that there will be about 40 cultural activities among these book presentations, talks, including manga. The universes of Akira Toriyama, with Joshua Hernández and Juan Carlos Gutiérrez.
On Friday the 12th, Paco Ignacio Taibo II will be present with the presentation of his book Los Alegres Muchachos de la Lucha de Classes. Likewise, there will be a talk about the book El Último metro, by Francisco Pérez Arce.
In this regard, Adolfo Cerqueda extended the invitation to the residents of the town, as well as neighboring districts, schools, students and teachers to visit the Neza 2024 Book Fair.
He reported that the events will take place from ten in the morning to 8 p.m. for four days. “Let people take advantage of the opportunity to find the books and stories that will change their lives forever.”
