A total of 50 public figures ranging from anti-corruption activists to former employees of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) wrote to the leaders of political parties to submit an inquiry into allegations of fraud on 2024 Election.

The party leaders who were urged to apply for the right to inquiry were PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarno Putri, Nasdem Party General Chair Surya Paloh, PKB General Chair Muhaimin Iskandar, PKS President Ahmad Syaikhu, and PPP General Chair Muhammad Mardiono.

In the letter published on Friday (8/3), the community leaders said that fraudulent practices had occurred in the 2024 elections.

“In our monitoring, allegations of election fraud that were questioned by the public occurred not only on voting day, February 14 2024, but also from the beginning of the election process until after the vote counting process was carried out by the General Election Commission (KPU) and officials. other powers,” the letter said.

It is said that this fraud not only hurts people’s conscience, but also causes unrest. This can be seen from the large number of discourses among the public and on social media, as well as widespread statements of attitude from professors and university lecturers.

If fraud is allowed, the letter continued, then law enforcement will be humiliated and democracy will be overthrown.

“Meanwhile, the perpetrators of election fraud continue to be rampant and become increasingly violent, no longer just living up to rotten and depraved precedents in an election process,” the letter said.

As a result, society will not obey the leadership of power and the various state policies it produces. Therefore, political parties are expected to mobilize DPR member factions to submit and carry out the Right to Inquiry.

“We really believe and have very big hopes that political parties will save this nation, so we are deliberately intensively involved in maintaining the law, law enforcement and democracy as well as democratization in Indonesia by saving the 2024 elections,” said the letter.

The community figures themselves consist of a number of activists, academics, and former KPK employees, such as Novel Baswedan, Bivitri Susanti, Usman Hamid, Faisal Basri, and Fatia Maulidiyanti, then Saut Situmorang, Agus Sunaryanto, and Haris Azhar.
