Two urgent motions against the mask requirement are pending before the Düsseldorf Administrative Court. A lawyer from Düsseldorf had submitted one of the applications. In terms of fines, the city contradicts reports that the fine would be due this week. So far, the security and service personnel (OSD) have usually only pointed out the violation to people who do not wear the mouth and nose cover or wear it incorrectly. No warning fee has yet been imposed.

In the event of a confirmation of the municipal general order by the Düsseldorf Administrative Court, fines of 50 euros per violation would be imposed from Tuesday. The general decree of the city theoretically gives fines of up to 25,000 euros – so far, however, the maximum has been 300 euros in the event of a repeat case.

According to the OSD, the mask requirement was met very quickly and extensively. From Wednesday, November 4, many people were out on the streets with everyday masks on. For those who were not yet wearing a mask, the OSD staff had worked with great sensitivity and explained the details of the general disposal to people. Regardless of this, many people in the urban area were found without everyday masks, but all of them responded understandingly when spoken to and put on a mouth and nose cover.
