12 were hospitalized for treatment
50 children from the “Vasil Levski” SU sports school in Plovdiv have symptoms of food poisoning. 12 of them were admitted to the St. George UMBAL Infectious Disease Clinic. Their condition is moderate with significant improvements.
Students are between 10 and 16 years old. The reception started around 8:30 pm last night and continued until 12:30 am today. The teams of the University Hospital are doing everything necessary to improve their conditions.
“The children are in a moderately damaged state, with a moderate degree of dehydration. About 5-6 hours after dinner some of them vomited and were upset. Prompt treatment was started. They had kebabs and pork with cabbage for dinner.” , explained Ivan Baltajiev, deputy head of the clinic.
The school is closed and the results of the inspection are expected by the end of the day.
The medical records of the staff were checked, no problems were found. No hygiene problems were identified.
Four desks and kiosks in the school area will also be checked.
If it is proven that the problem is in the canteen, administrative measures will be imposed.
