Uncertainty, instability, inflation and slowdown in growth. The duo is shaken and a restless cocktail emerges that citizens are already smelling. 57% believe that the economic situation is bad or bad and 55% even believe that it will get worse in the coming months.

This last figure is important because when pessimism sets in, consumption, investment and employment end up suffering. So far, 29% of respondents from Sigma Due for THE WORLD describes their personal situation as bad or very bad and 50% of those who claim to have a mortgage – one in three Spaniards – have already noticed an increase in the amount to pay.

In this group experiencing an increase in the payment of their credit, two thirds indicate that the increase was much or enough and only one third that it was small. Voters between the ages of 18 and 44 are the hardest hit. By political affinity, those who say they are very or quite affected by the increase are the voters of the PSOE -36% – and Vox -40% -.

Despite this, those who claim to vote for PSOE and United We Can are the ones who are most optimistic about the future. 22% of the former and 19% of the latter are convinced that the next few months will bring an improvement. These are percentages that contrast with the concerns expressed by the voters of the rest of the parties. The economic recovery is expected only by 4.5% of the voters of the PP; 3.1% of those of Vox; 4% of those from Ciudadanos and 6% of those from other formations.

Those who show affinity with the government’s junior partner are the ones who value their personal financial situation best. 32%, one in three United voters We can assure you that their situation is good or very good. 28% of socialist voters agree with this opinion. In both cases the satisfied are more numerous than the dissatisfied, exactly the opposite of what happens for the rest of the voters who seem not to have been influenced by the anti-crisis measures of the government.

The high energy prices affecting the entire consumption chain are at the root of the problem and that is why 68% of citizens are in favor of reducing the next Christmas lighting. Messages to save, better in decorations than in domestic consumption. All voters agree on this view, with United We Can being the most prone to cut back and Vox being the most reluctant.
