Public Mexico made an uproar. Five women who had gone missing were found burned to death.
The five women are suspected of being victims kidnapping and murder in the central Mexican region. This area is being hit by cases of violence.
Reported by AFP news agency, Saturday (18/3/2023), the five victims were aged between 19 and 48 years. They were reported missing this month on their way to work at an event venue in Celaya, in the state of Guanajuato.
The identity of the victim has not been disclosed by local authorities.
Authorities have carried out genetic testing to identify the bodies of the five women. Guanajuato state prosecutor Carlos Zamarripa said most of the bodies were “almost completely burnt”.
He said forensic experts were continuing to analyze material found at the site. Local authorities are still investigating the motive murder the victims.
6 Gang Members and Hondurans Arrested
Prosecutors said as many as six suspected gang members from the northeastern Mexican state of Tamaulipas had been arrested. Apart from that, said Zamarripa, a Honduran citizen was also arrested.
