Boss SpaceX and Tesla Elon Musk have very free thinking — and wild. He did not hesitate to write down all his predictions to the public and it turned out to be true, some of his assumptions came true. The billionaire, nicknamed Iron Man in the real world, talks about anything, from outer space to cryptocurrencies.
Launching Fortune, here are a number of predictions from Elon Musk, some of which are close to reality. Anything surprised you?
1. The dangers of artificial intelligence
Musk predicted in 2014 that artificial intelligence (AI) could become a human threat, warning the tech sector to be careful. He conveyed this on Twitter as well as several media. According to Musk, it will take 5-10 years for something dangerous to happen.
“Please note that I’m usually super pro-tech, and never raised this issue until the last few months. This is not a case of hype about something I don’t understand,” Musk quoted CNBC as saying.
2. Humans on Mars
When will humans be able to live on Planet Mars? Say Elon Muskthe answer is in 2029. This he revealed in response to a tease on Twitter.
Not the first time, in 2016, Musk believed that millions of humans could colonize Mars by 2060. However, no human has ever set foot on Mars. At least until April 2022.
3. Tesla is bigger than Apple
In a tweet last year, Musk predicted that his electric car company Tesla would be bigger than Apple. This was opened from a tweet intended to reply to a tweet from a netizen.
“I think there’s a >0% chance Tesla can become the biggest company,” replies Elon Musk. However, this prediction has not been proven even though Tesla’s share price is indeed increasing.
