Dr. Lasheen Saad, Professor of Liver and Digestive System, at the Liver Institute and Professor of Medicine at Mansoura University, revealed five signs that guide you that the cause of constipation is colon cancer, which we must pay attention to and not ignore so as not to expose ourselves to risks.
Lashin said, during an episode presented to him on his personal page on the “YouTube” application: “There is a great relationship between constipation and colon cancer, noting that constipation is a well-known symptom in the digestive system, and about 50% of the elderly complain about it.”
Lashin pointed out that constipation is a decrease in the number of going to the bathroom less than 3 times a week, difficulty in going to the bathroom, and hard stools.
He pointed out that colon cancer is considered one of the fiercest cancers in the world, in men more than in women, and if it is not detected early, we find it difficult to treat.
He explained that the elderly are more susceptible to this disease, and it is considered one of the causes of constipation, noting that there are signs that, if they appear in constipation, indicate colon cancer.
Warning signs
1- Significantly rapid, unjustified weight loss, especially after the age of 40.
2- Loss of appetite.
3- Iron deficiency anemia.
4- Presence of blood in the stool.
5- The presence of hidden blood in the stool.
Less serious signs are:
1- Intractable constipation.
2- Having a bout of diarrhea.
3- Alternate between constipation and meanness.
4- Colon disorders after the age of 50.
