The heart is one of the most important organs in the body, as it is responsible for pumping blood to all parts of the body.
Russian doctor Anastasia Fomichova, a cardiologist, indicated that there are a group of indicators through which it is possible to determine whether the heart is healthy or not, and these indicators include the following:
– blood pressure:
Normal blood pressure ranges between 120/80 and 140/90 mm Hg. If blood pressure is higher than 140/90 mm Hg, this is an indication of high blood pressure, which is a major risk factor for heart disease, according to the Russian “Gazeta” agency.
-Heart rate:
The normal resting heart rate for adults is between 60 and 100 beats per minute, so if your heart rate is less than 60 beats per minute, it’s a sign of bradycardia, a health condition that leads to circulation problems.
Cholesterol level:
A normal cholesterol level is less than 200 milligrams per deciliter, but if your cholesterol level is high, it may increase your risk of atherosclerosis, heart attack or stroke.
– Triglyceride level:
High levels of triglycerides cause an increased risk of heart disease.
– Blood sugar:
If your blood sugar level is high, it may increase your risk of developing diabetes, which is a major risk factor for heart disease.
She advised following some tips to maintain heart health, including:
Exercise regularly.
– Maintain a healthy weight.
– Follow a healthy, balanced diet.
– Quit Smoking.
– Control stress levels.
- Avoid foods high in saturated fats and fast carbohydrates.
