You may be bullied at work for receiving a lot of positive attention for your work. Or maybe you work harder and earn recognition than other coworkers.
Generally, workplace bullies will target talented people because they feel inferior or they worry that their work will be overshadowed by the work and abilities of other employees. Bullying bosses, in particular, will target skilled workers and steal praise or spoil the target’s work.
2. You are popular
All victims of bullying are loners and outcasts with no friends or social connections just a myth. In fact, workers who are popular and liked are most vulnerable to workplace bullying.
Bullies believe that people who are diligent, or even frequently praised by their bosses, are a threat to others at work.
3. You are a good person
If you describe yourself as caring, social, and collaborative, this may be why you’re being bullied at work.
For a bully at work, these characteristics drain their power. Team building is the exact opposite of what the bully wants. They want to be in control and do everything.
So you may be the target of bullies because you are a team player. You may also be targeted for being ethical and honest. But this doesn’t mean you have to change your behavior.
