Techno.id – Sharing internet access via hotspot has become commonplace for some people. Especially when they travel. Usually, people with a larger internet quota can share internet access.
Internet speed will depend greatly on the service provider. However, you can make your iPhone hotspot faster. Here are some tips that you can try to follow.
1. Move your iPhone closer

Wi-Fi signals can weaken because they have to pass through metal, water, and other physical objects, such as solid walls and furniture. Additionally, electronic devices such as microwave ovens can reduce Wi-Fi speeds by half. In certain settings, the iPhone’s cellular hotspot emits the same 2.4 GHz frequency as a microwave oven.
Although traditional Wi-Fi signals can be boosted with extenders to reduce weak spots, most people won’t take these tools to hotspot their phones. However, one quick and easy way to reduce the possibility of interference from the environment is to move your cellular hotspot closer to the device you want to connect to.
2. Reset network connection

In some cases, slow hotspot speeds may be due to poor data connection. Depending on how you decide to connect your iPhone to another device, the problem may be with the receiver, connection cable, and so on. If you suspect this may be the case, you can choose to reset the network connection.
3. Disable unused connections

It is possible that a Bluetooth device located near a Wi-Fi transmitting device, such as a router or cell phone, may cause interference or performance issues. Knowing this, it’s possible that removing unused Bluetooth devices, including those connected to your iPhone, from your signal could help improve performance.
Next, you can try reducing the number of devices connected to the iPhone hotspot. To do this, you can ask people who are not using the connection to disconnect their devices if they are not using it.
Because devices that were previously connected to your iPhone hotspot can reconnect automatically when they are in close proximity. Unlike on some Android phones, you also can’t selectively disconnect one device from the iPhone’s hotspot. This means you only have the option to turn off hotspot for all connected devices at once.
4. Use the maximize compatibility feature

According to Apple, personal hotspots use a 5GHz connection by default, which provides relatively faster speeds, but with a shorter range. Often, 5GHz is the recommended frequency for people playing online games, streaming high definition movies.
While this is great if the device you are trying to connect to is compatible with 5GHz, the reality is that some smart devices or older phones cannot use this frequency.
If you’re trying to share cellular data with a group that’s a little spread out in terms of space or has older devices that don’t support 5GHz, you can enable the Maximize Compatibility feature to give them internet access. By enabling Maximize Compatibility, which is available for iPhone 12 models or later, you can return your iPhone’s cellular hotspot to 2.4 GHz, which is more compatible with a wider range of devices. Here’s how to do it.
1. Open the Settings app
2. Tap Cellular > Personal Hotspot.
3. Next to Maximize Compatibility, enable the toggle.
5. Monitor data usage

If you use a hotspot while on vacation with everyone connected during your trip, you may have exceeded your data limit for that month. When this happens, some service providers may start charging you additional fees or start throttling your connection.
To avoid this, you can check data usage regularly and ensure an appropriate budget. To check it, here’s how.
1. Open Settings.
2. Tap Cellular.
3. Under Cellular Data, check Current Period.
4. In this section, you can also see which apps consume the most data, including how much you consume using your personal cellular hotspot.
5. If you no longer want to give certain applications access to the internet, you can turn off the button next to the application name or delete the application completely. Additionally, if you’re having trouble remembering previous numbers, you can scroll down and tap Reset Statistics.
