Jakarta –
Student of Forest Management Science Study Program (IPH), Faculty of Forestry and Environment (Fahutan) IPB University managed to break a new record by becoming the youngest doctor at the age of 25 years.
The youngest doctor is Nitya Ade Santi. He officially obtained his Doctorate degree through the Doctoral Promotion Session or the conferment of a Doctoral title (Dr), which was held some time ago in the Sylva Fahutan Meeting Room of IPB.
How Can You Get a Doctorate at the Age of 25?
Long before earning his doctorate, Nitya told me that he had entered high school (SMA) at a young age.
This could happen because he participated in the acceleration program at SMPN 1 Sragen.
“I used to have accelerated junior high school so it was only 2 years. The high school was usually regular. Then I entered S1 at the age of 16 and graduated 4.5 years too quickly,” he told detikEdu, Monday (25/7/2022).
Although still young, Nitya has focused on forest management and management since the undergraduate level and continued until the doctorate. He shows this by continuing to take a linear direction.
At the undergraduate level, Nitya took Forest Management, then Masters in Forest Management from IPB & Masters in Tropical International Forestry at the University of Gottingen, Germany. Then at the S3 level at IPB Forest Management Study Program.
“In 2018, I entered S2, aged 21. Then I graduated S2 at 23, graduated S3 at 25,” he said.

Not only completing in a fairly fast time, Nitya can also carry out free doctoral studies through the Ministry of Education and Culture Ministry’s Masters Education program for Doctoral Degrees (PMDSU).
With the PMDSU program, Nitya can take a period of study from undergraduate to doctoral at no cost.
“S2 overlaps with doctoral degrees. So, while studying for doctoral degrees through the Kemdikbudristekdikti scholarship program, which will provide the S2 and S3 financing schemes in 4 years. So like it or not, S2-S3 must be completed within 4 years. completion of the thesis and doctoral lectures at the same time,” he explained.
5 Tips for Passing Doctoral Degree with Scholarship
This graduate of SMA Negeri 2 Sragen admitted that from the beginning he did not intend to continue his studies to the doctoral level.
However, that changed when there was a valuable opportunity through the Kemdikbudristekdikti scholarship program.
“There is no real intention to continue to S2 and S3. Because the costs are big. I want to graduate S1 and continue to work. But because there is a Ministry of Education and Culture scholarship program that is full of educational costs, I take the opportunity,” said Nitya.
For this achievement, Nitya also gives tips to students who want to struggle to continue their studies to a higher level, including:
1. Don’t be afraid to try
According to Nitya, students should not be afraid to try opportunities to continue their studies because there are many scholarships offered by both the state and the private sector.
2. Learn from Anything
Not only glued to books and college. Nitya said there are many ways to learn, starting from YouTube, journals, friendship, lecturers and so on.
“Making a target, for example, in 1 day, how many journals do you have to read,” he said.
3.Love What You Do
In addition to learning, students also need to have a sense of love for what they are doing. According to Nitya, this is important because when you are tired of things you love, it will be different from what you have to do.
4. Discipline
Because it will be through an increasingly focused education, students must be self-disciplined.
“Make the journey to complete the final task a responsibility to yourself,” he said.
5. Responsibility
Although the struggle from the S1 to the S3 process is not easy, Nitya admits that he is happy to have won a Doctorate degree.
“From 2013 until now, it has been a struggle for me. Moreover, being able to pass doctoral degree which affects me psychologically and mentally. But now I’m just happy. Proud to be at this stage now,” he explained.
One of the things that makes Nitya continue to struggle is to be responsible and have the awareness that what she went through did not just happen.
“I feel that I am educated S2-S3 it’s the government. In other words, it is the people who educate me. I can eat, I can go to school, I can do research from the people’s money, if I’m not serious, it’s a sin. I feel that I have a moral responsibility for this, so there is no such thing as giving up or giving up. So everything has to be done. Because a good final project is a finished one,” he concluded.
