This Tuesday, October 1st marked the end of Paris Fashion Week but also of fashion month. During these 9 days, the capital was the scene of a myriad of parades, 66 to be precise. Overview of what you absolutely must remember from this season.
Celebrities on the podium
This season, the houses have relied on celebrities to represent their collections for models. At Miu Miu, we spotted Cara Delevingne, Sunday Rose, the daughter of Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban and Willem Dafoe, starring in the film Beetlejuice, which closed the show. At Saint Laurent, Bella Hadid, who had announced she was taking a break from her career, made an appearance that no one expected. At Coperni, Kylie Jenner closed the show in the role of an evil princess, while at Balenciaga, the front row was seated at the podium: when celebrities are an integral part of the show.

Rare birds at Chanel
At Chanel, a giant bird cage was erected in the middle of the Grand Palais, a nod to an advertisement directed by Jean-Paul Goude in 1991 in which Vanessa Paradis was the star. During the show, the models crossed this cage and for the finale, the singer Riley Keough sat there, sitting on a swing on which she performed “When Doves Cry” by Prince: a title that we also heard during the Stella McCartney show. An ode to freedom that we find through the clothes adorned with feathers, accessories and shoes that recall this XXL cage.

The golden age of bangs
At Louis Vuitton, Nicolas Ghesquière glamorized fringed skirts by adding rhinestones. At Stella McCartney, rhinestone fringes too, on a top that reminds us of the disco years. For Dior, Maria Grazia Chiuri parades her “Amazons” with fringed belts, which can be worn at the waist or as a cross-body.

A collaboration that will make fashion run wild
During her show, Stella McCartney introduced “Rasant”, a pair of high-top unisex sneakers with a vintage look in collaboration with Adidas. This vegan shoe is inspired by the Monza model worn in the 1970s and 80s and by Stella’s first collection in 2001. Next summer’s most desirable shoes have already been seen on the celebrities seated in the front row of the show: Barbara Palvin, Cole Sprouse and even actor Lukas Cage.
Available for pre-order on stellamccartney.com in October 2024, in stores and online in January 2025.

The detail to copy: the gris-gris of bags at Chloé
At Chloé, it’s time for the “Birkinization” of bags. This Thursday, September 26, all eyes were glued to the bags, decorated with a multitude of gray grays. Chemena Kamali plays the card of accumulating bag jewelry and it works wonderfully.
