A total of five teams have been confirmed to have been eliminated from AFF Cup 2020 (2021). Meanwhile, two tickets to the semifinals are still up for grabs by the three teams in Group B.
Most of the contestants in this edition of the AFF Cup have already played three matches. Only Timor Leste and Laos have played four matches.
Timor Leste is also confirmed to be one of the teams that are certain to be eliminated. Fabio Magrao’s squad has the status as caretaker of Group A without points.
Of the four matches played, Timor Leste always lost and became the only team that was unable to score a goal. Myanmar and the Philippines, each with three points, are also confirmed to have been kicked out of the competition.
Thailand and Singapore are the two teams that qualify for the semifinals of the AFF Cup. Both of them won in the first three games and managed to pocket nine points.
Thailand has the right to occupy the top of the standings because of superior goal difference over Singapore. The clash of Thailand vs Singapore which will take place on Friday (18/12) will determine who is entitled to come out as group winner.
Meanwhile, there is fierce competition in Group B. Indonesia, Vietnam, and Malaysia still have a chance to win tickets to the semifinals.
Indonesia and Vietnam are in the first and second positions respectively with seven points. However, Indonesia is ahead on goal difference and has the right to occupy the top position of the Group B standings.

The bottom two teams in Group B, Cambodia and Laos, have been confirmed to be eliminated. These two teams are only the goal barns for the top three teams.
Two semifinal tickets will be determined on Sunday (19/12). Indonesia will face Malaysia, while Vietnam will face Cambodia which has been confirmed to be eliminated.
