High cholesterol usually does not cause any symptoms. In most cases it just causes an emergency event. For example, a heart attack or stroke can result from the damage caused by high cholesterol.
These events usually do not occur until high cholesterol leads to plaque formation in the arteries. Plaque can narrow the arteries so that less blood can pass through them. Plaque formation changes the lining of your arteries. This can lead to serious complications.

1. Chest Pain or Angina
Angina is a type of chest pain caused by reduced blood flow to the heart. Lack of blood flow means your heart muscle isn’t getting enough oxygen. The pain is often triggered by physical activity or emotional stress.
Pain sensations that occur during episodes of stable angina are often described as pressure or fullness in the center of the chest. The pain can feel like a squeeze on your chest or like a heavy weight resting on your chest. This pain can radiate from the chest to the neck, arms, and shoulders.
